ok so one thing about that giant plane landing in the hudson river yesterday. i know that spot where it landed and it’s really close to a very active ferry crossing between NY and NJ. like there’s almost always at least two or four ferries actively crossing at any given time at that spot in that river. did the plane stop just short of the ferry crossing lanes? did the ferries see the plane coming and get out of the way in time? (unlikely) did the plane hit right at the moment that all the ferries were docked and loading passengers?
so the ferries were dodged yet they were close enough to save everyone from the freezing water before the plane sank…
whatever the answer is, it’s all very very lucky.

on another note, this Beyonce song If I Were a Boy… i have no idea how old it is. i caught it on an SNL rerun so i have to assume it’s been a few months already. it’s a great song! there’s such a tangible sadness and disappointment in almost every aspect of it. and it’s quite a catchy tune.

my hubs doesnt understand that song. did you know that’s not even her song? she just re-did it. it’s by this chick named reiko. her version is so much better.
yeah, that pilot was lucky, but also very skilled in his landing. he landed the plane just slow and relatively smoothly enough that the entire plane remained intact.
i don’t mean to add to the haterade on here, but “If I Were A Boy” is a pretty sucky song. at least Beyonce isn’t screeching in it like she does in her other songs — but it’s like she’s trying really hard to evoke emotion from her listeners yet fails at it (you’re an exception).
It seems fishy that two gees would get sucked into the jets at the same time….either way, it’s quite the bit of good fortune there. Beyonce was so much beter with Destiny’s Child

lol~i can’t believe you like beyonce’s song! you don’t seem like the type who would like her songs…or any other “pop” genre. but yes, i love that song too.
really? beyonce makes me want to throw things. she just tries way to hard…and all that screeching. UGH.
